As for Bunchu Gin, it is my recollection that several Baltimore distillers featured such. R&G may have been in a defensive mode by that offering.Jack Sullivanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01499431800088809848noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6657913448535983609.post-88037129073209703362020-12-20T17:44:32.870-08:002020-12-20T17:44:32.870-08:00Appreciate your article on Records and Goldsboroug...Appreciate your article on Records and Goldsborough. We inherited my grandfather's whiskey collection and there is a half filled bottle of R&G Buchu Gin in his collection. My grandfather Daniel was plant manager at Calvert Distillery from 1933 to 1939; plant manager at Wilson Distillery from 1939 to 1941 and then worked for EMF Distillery in Havre De Grace from 1946 to 1949. He also did a stint at the resurrected Weissner *formerly Free State Brewery) Brewery in Baltimore in the early 1950's. We had an extensive collection from all of those distilleries, many unopened. We even have a Macy's Red Star Blended Whiskey that was made in 1935 for the department store by the Carstairs Bros (actually Calvert Distillery) in Relay MD. Your articles are helping us fill in some of the gaps in our reconstruction of the stories behind the bottle. Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
