The Jacob Stein would seem to be Jacob (lll) who was active in various enterprises. I am not familiar with the other names. Scheidy and Derr would have been fellow "Pennsylvania Dutch," however. I appreciate the work you ...Thanks for the insight! I appreciate the work you put into this. This helped me learn a good bit about the Stein family. I buy/sell antiques and when I find something unique I spend hours to weeks researching until I figure out every little piece of history pertaining to whatever the item is. I recently came across a 1844 bond/deed or loan. Not sure what it is exactly but I will figure it out soon. In the deed it states Jacob Stein & Jacob Scheidy will pay the sum of $400 to Samuel Williams. The document was overseen by Israel Derr and signed/sealed by all of them. If you can help me figure out what this is exactly I would really appreciate it. I’m guessing you don’t have info on the other guys?
