I have one of the Chrystal paper weights that was handed down directly from One of his sons but I have never seen any other pre pro memorabilia from Col Taylor’s time. I also have the benefit of a sizable collection of books collected for some 40 years that I reference. I will provide you with further more specific thoughts at your email site. Good luck on your thesis. An interesting topic. My name is Katie-Beth and I am currently writing my thesis on the archaeology of the bourbon industry in Kentucky from the mid 1800s to Prohibition, with the OFC site of EH Taylor's being one of my case studies. I was wondering what the majority of sources you use for your blog are (journals, oral histories, etc.), as you have tons of information. Please let me know if you can! Different census records list different dates of birth (1830 vs. 1832) but handwritten forms filled out by Taylor later in life go with 1830.MCHhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17656198797503778872noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6657913448535983609.post-87792421771293458912015-01-11T14:01:06.494-08:002015-01-11T14:01:06.494-08:00More to Darkpatches: Just re-check my sources. ...More to Darkpatches: Just re-check my sources. They say his birthdate was 1830. His obituary notices also confirm that he died in 1922 at the age of 92. That would make the birth date 1830 as well. I usually go by the gravestone date but have yet to find Taylor's grave.
